Bayern Munich — Club History
FC Bayern Munich were founded in 1900 by 11 members of a Munich gymnastics club. The club has been the dominant force in German football since the early 1970s, when the Franz Beckenbauer–Gerd Müller side won three consecutive European Cups between 1974 and 1976.
Bayern's modern dominance has been remarkable: between 2012–13 and 2022–23 they won eleven consecutive Bundesliga titles — the longest league-winning streak in any of Europe's top five leagues. The 2020 treble under Hansi Flick (Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, Champions League) is widely considered one of the great single-season achievements.
Vincent Kompany took over in summer 2024 and won La Liga's previous champion BVB to a comfortable Bundesliga in 2024–25. Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Manuel Neuer anchor the contemporary squad.
